Lavish Rations
From Project Rebearth
Lavish Rations is a choice that increases
Food consumption by 20% in exchange for a +20% happiness boost. It is one of three mutually exclusive ration policies, alongside Low Rations and Normal Rations.
Effects
[edit]| Effect | Value | Description |
|---|---|---|
| ×1.2 | Increases food consumption by 20% | |
| Happiness | +20% | Increases settlement happiness by 20% |
Lavish Rations increases the amount of
Food consumed by all housing buildings by 20%, reflecting the more generous food portions provided to the population. In return, settlement happiness increases by 20%, as residents enjoy better meals and higher quality of life.
Details
[edit]Lavish Rations has no resource cost to enact and has a 1-day lock period. It is mutually exclusive with Low Rations and Normal Rations. Only one ration policy can be active at any time. Normal Rations is the default ration policy for all settlements.
Strategy
[edit]Lavish Rations is the best happiness-boosting choice available through the ration system. The +20% happiness bonus is substantial and can offset penalties from other choices such as Taxation (-30%) or Cramped Quarters (-30%), helping keep happiness above the Strike threshold.
The cost is a 20% increase in
Food consumption across all housing. Settlements need a robust food supply to sustain this, especially larger towns with many housing buildings. The additional food demand scales with population, so the absolute cost grows as the settlement expands.
Lavish Rations pairs particularly well with Taxation. The +20% happiness from Lavish Rations partially offsets Taxation's -30% penalty, resulting in a manageable -10% net happiness change while still benefiting from tax income. For settlements in a Science League (+10% happiness), the combination of Lavish Rations and Science League provides enough of a happiness buffer to run Taxation with only a net 0% happiness change.
