Stone Biome
From Project Rebearth
The Stone Biome is one of four biomes in Project Rebearth. It covers mountainous and rocky regions of the world, where
Stone is the dominant resource. Settlements in the Stone biome benefit from the highest
Stone and
Ore production rates in the game, making it the premier biome for mining, metalworking, and advanced production chains.
Overview
[edit]The Stone biome is associated with rocky, mountainous, and arid highland landscapes.
Stone serves as both the primary resource and the construction material for all buildings in this biome.
Construction
[edit]Buildings in the Stone biome cost
Stone as their primary resource. For example, a Shack costs 35
Stone, a Cabin costs 80
Stone, and a Town Hall costs 1,000
Stone plus 500
Wood, 10
Tools, and 20
Glass.
Housing Upkeep
[edit]The Stone biome has standard housing upkeep, identical to the Wood Biome. A Shack consumes -1
Wood per day, the same as the Wood Biome, roughly ten times higher than the Earth Biome (-0.1), and half the rate of the Arctic Biome (-2).
Food consumption remains the same across all biomes.
| Housing | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shack | -1 | -0.1 | -2 | -1.5 |
| Hut | -1.5 | -0.15 | -3 | -2 |
| Cabin | -2 | -0.2 | -4 | -2.5 |
| House | -2.5 | -0.25 | -5 | -4 |
| Residence | -3 | -0.3 | -6 | -5 |
| Villa | -3.5 | -0.35 | -7 | -6 |
Resource Production
[edit]All biomes have different production rates and the table below compares key building output across all. Values in bold indicate the highest rate for that building in the Stone Biome.
| Building | Resource | Wood Biome | Stone Biome | Earth Biome | Unit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Woodcutter | 30 | 15 | 5 | /day | |
| Nursery | 5 | 2 | 1 | /day | |
| Tent | 5 | 3 | 1 | /day | |
| Saw | 20 | 20 | 20 | /day | |
| Quarry | 0.01 | 0.03 | 0.01 | /m²/day | |
| Stone Crane | 20 | 30 | 10 | /day | |
| Claypit | 0.01 | 0.01 | 0.04 | /m²/day | |
| Clay Crane | 20 | 10 | 30 | /day | |
| Iron Mine | 40 | 100 | 60 | /day | |
| Foraging Hut | 5 | 5 | 3 | /day |
The Quarry produces 0.03
Stone per m² per day in the Stone biome, three times the rate in other biomes. The Stone Crane produces 30
Stone per day, also the highest of any biome. This abundance of
Stone makes the Stone biome ideal for large-scale construction and trade.
The Iron Mine produces 100
Ore per day, the highest of any biome and more than double the Wood Biome's rate of 40. This makes the Stone biome the premier location for
Ore extraction and downstream
Metal and
Tools production via the Refinery and Tools Workshop.
The Woodcutter produces 15
Wood per day, half the Wood Biome's rate of 30 but three times the Earth Biome's rate of 5. Unlike the Wood biome, the Woodcutter in the Stone biome does not consume
Tools.
The Foraging Hut produces 5
Food, 1
Wood, and 1
Earth per day. The
Food output is tied with the Wood Biome for the highest among all biomes.
Strategy
[edit]The Stone biome excels at mining and industrial production. The Quarry and Stone Crane provide abundant
Stone for construction and trade, while the Iron Mine at 100
Ore per day enables strong
Metal and
Tools supply chains. Settlements in the Stone biome are well-positioned to become manufacturing hubs, supplying
Tools to other biomes through trade.
Housing upkeep is identical to the Wood Biome, with standard
Wood consumption rates. The Woodcutter produces a moderate 15
Wood per day — sufficient for basic needs but potentially limiting during rapid expansion. The Saw produces 20
Wood per day regardless of biome, providing a consistent supplement at the cost of -0.2
Tools per day.
The primary weakness of the Stone biome is its low
Earth production. The Claypit produces only 0.01
Earth per m² per day compared to 0.04 in the Earth Biome, making
Glass production more dependent on trade or large clay pit areas.
