Intensive Farming
From Project Rebearth
Intensive Farming is a choice that permanently unlocks the ability to feed
Grain to animals, increasing the amount of animal products a town can produce. Unlike most choices, it has no direct multiplier effects and cannot be reversed once enacted.
Effects
[edit]Intensive Farming has no direct production or consumption multipliers. Instead, it unlocks intensive farming for the town, allowing players to feed their animals
Grain to boost the output of animal products such as
Milk and
Wool. This is a permanent unlock that changes how animal farming operates going forward.
Details
[edit]Intensive Farming costs 100
Knowledge to enact and is permanent, meaning it cannot be disabled once chosen. This makes it one of the few irreversible decisions in the game.
The policy is not part of any exclusive group, so it can be active alongside any other choice. It is not a default choice and must be actively selected by the player.
Because Intensive Farming is permanent, players should consider carefully before enacting it. The 100
Knowledge cost is relatively low, but the inability to reverse the decision means the gameplay changes it introduces are permanent for that town.
Strategy
[edit]Intensive Farming is a one-time investment of 100
Knowledge that permanently expands a town's animal farming capabilities. Since it has no negative effects (no happiness penalty, no production reductions), the main consideration is whether the player has a
Grain supply available to take advantage of the new feeding mechanic.
Towns with established fields producing surplus
Grain benefit the most, as the extra grain can be redirected to animals for increased
Milk and
Wool output. For towns that rely heavily on animal products for their economy (through creameries, tailors, or trade), this choice is a straightforward upgrade with no downsides.
Unlike choices such as Worker Safety or Dubious Working Rules that involve ongoing trade-offs, Intensive Farming is a simple unlock. There is little reason to delay enacting it once a player has the
Knowledge and an animal farming operation in place.
