The Wood Biome is one of four biomes in Project Rebearth. It covers the forested regions of the world, where
Wood is the dominant resource. Settlements in the Wood biome benefit from the highest
Wood production rates in the game and strong
Food output from the Foraging Hut, making it an excellent biome for early expansion and self-sufficient growth.
Overview
[edit]The Wood biome is associated with forested and tropical landscapes.
Wood serves as both the primary resource and the construction material for all buildings in this biome.
Construction
[edit]Buildings in the Wood biome cost
Wood as their primary resource. For example, a Shack costs 35
Wood, a Cabin costs 80
Wood, and a Town Hall costs 1,000
Wood plus 500
Stone, 10
Tools, and 20
Glass.
Housing Upkeep
[edit]The Wood biome has standard housing upkeep, serving as the baseline for comparison with other biomes. A Shack consumes -1
Wood per day, which is the same as the Stone Biome, roughly ten times higher than the Earth Biome (-0.1), and half the rate of the Arctic Biome (-2).
Food consumption remains the same across all biomes.
| Housing | ||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shack | -1 | -0.1 | -2 | -1.5 |
| Hut | -1.5 | -0.15 | -3 | -2 |
| Cabin | -2 | -0.2 | -4 | -2.5 |
| House | -2.5 | -0.25 | -5 | -4 |
| Residence | -3 | -0.3 | -6 | -5 |
| Villa | -3.5 | -0.35 | -7 | -6 |
Resource Production
[edit]All biomes have different production rates and the table below compares key building output across all. Values in bold indicate the highest rate for that building in the Wood Biome.
| Building | Resource | Wood Biome | Stone Biome | Earth Biome | Unit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Woodcutter | 30 | 15 | 5 | /day | |
| Nursery | 5 | 2 | 1 | /day | |
| Tent | 5 | 3 | 1 | /day | |
| Saw | 20 | 20 | 20 | /day | |
| Quarry | 0.01 | 0.03 | 0.01 | /m²/day | |
| Stone Crane | 20 | 30 | 10 | /day | |
| Claypit | 0.01 | 0.01 | 0.04 | /m²/day | |
| Clay Crane | 20 | 10 | 30 | /day | |
| Iron Mine | 40 | 100 | 60 | /day | |
| Foraging Hut | 5 | 5 | 3 | /day |
The Woodcutter produces 30
Wood per day in the Wood biome, the highest of any biome and double the Stone Biome's rate. However, the Woodcutter also consumes -0.05
Tools per day in the Wood biome, a cost that does not apply in other biomes. Similarly, the Tent produces 5
Wood per day but consumes -0.025
Tools per day only in the Wood biome.
The Foraging Hut produces 5
Food, 1
Stone, and 1
Earth per day. The
Food output of 5 per day is tied with the Stone Biome for the highest among all biomes, making the Foraging Hut particularly valuable for sustaining early settlements.
The Iron Mine produces 40
Ore per day, the lowest of any biome. Settlements that require large quantities of
Ore for
Metal and
Tools production may need to supplement through trade or multiple mines.
Strategy
[edit]The Wood biome is the most straightforward biome for new players due to its high
Wood production and strong
Food output. The Woodcutter alone can sustain most early-game construction, and the Foraging Hut provides a reliable food base alongside secondary
Stone and
Earth.
The primary weakness of the Wood biome is its low
Ore production. With the Iron Mine producing only 40
Ore per day compared to 100 in the Stone Biome, advanced production chains involving
Metal and
Tools require either multiple mines or trade partnerships with Stone biome settlements.
The unique
Tools cost on the Woodcutter and Tent in the Wood biome is a trade-off for the higher
Wood output. While the per-unit cost is small (-0.05 and -0.025 per day respectively), it adds up with multiple buildings and should be factored into
Tools supply planning.
Changelog
[edit]February 17, 2026
- Balance Woodcutters and Tents in the Wood Biome now require a small amount of
Tools (−0.05/day), balancing exponential growth in the Wood Biome and increasing demand for the Stone Biome's tool production. The Nursery is unaffected.
Tools consumption of the Saw was also lowered.
February 7, 2026
- Balance The Iron Mine has been rebalanced: maximum daily production is now 100 / 60 / 40 (
Stone /
Wood /
Earth biomes). Production in the Wood Biome and Earth Biome is now feasible, though the Stone Biome remains most favourable.
