Earth (clay) is one of the three primary resources in Project Rebearth and the backbone of construction in the Earth Biome. It is extracted from clay pits using Clay Cranes and is the key input for the Glassworks, which converts it into
Glass.
Earth is also used as a building material in the Earth Biome, where it replaces
Wood and
Stone as the primary construction resource.
Overview
[edit]The Claypit is the primary source of
Earth. As a polygon building, its production rate scales with area: +0.01
Earth/m²/day in the Wood Biome and Stone Biome, and +0.04
Earth/m²/day in the Earth Biome. The Clay Crane is placed within a Claypit to boost output, producing +20/day in Wood, +10/day in Stone, and +30/day in Earth biome, at the cost of
Tools (-0.1/day). The Improved Clay Crane roughly doubles these rates (+50/+20/+80 per day) but consumes significantly more
Tools (-1/day).
The Foraging Hut produces a small amount of
Earth (+1/day) in the Wood and Stone biomes, alongside
Food and other basic resources. It does not produce
Earth in the Earth biome.
In the Earth Biome,
Earth is the primary construction material. Most buildings that cost
Wood in the Wood biome or
Stone in the Stone biome cost
Earth instead. The Claypit is not available in the Arctic Biome.
Production

The Claypit has the highest output in the Earth Biome (+0.04/m²/day), four times the rate in the Wood Biome and Stone Biome (+0.01/m²/day). The Clay Crane and Improved Clay Crane are placed inside a Claypit (within 20 meters) and provide substantial flat-rate production, making them essential for scaling
Earth output. The Claypit is not available in the Arctic Biome.
Production Chains
[edit]Glass Chain
[edit]The Glassworks converts
Earth into
Glass at a rate of -50
Earth/day to +5
Glass/day (10 workers).
Glass is required for constructing the University and Museum, and is consumed by the University at -5
Glass/day. This makes
Earth an indirect prerequisite for
Knowledge production.
Consumption
[edit]| Building | Rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Glassworks | -50/day | Input for |
The Glassworks is the only building that consumes
Earth as an ongoing resource. It converts 50
Earth/day into 5
Glass/day, requiring a substantial and steady supply from Claypits and Clay Cranes.
Storage
[edit]| Building | Volume |
|---|---|
| Center | 5,000 (shared with all resources) |
| Square | 10,000 (shared with all resources) |
| Warehouse | 5,000 (shared with all resources) |
| Foraging Hut | 100 ( |
Other Sources
[edit]- Trade can be used to buy and sell
Earth on the Market (1,000 capacity) or Port (5,000 capacity). - Expeditions yield 15 random basic resources (
Wood,
Stone,
Earth, or
Glass) per 1,000 hectares explored. - Celebration events can grant bonus
Earth.

The goods production effect specifically targets
Wood,
Stone, and
Earth production. The all production effect affects every production building in the settlement.
Changelog
[edit]February 7, 2026
- Balance The Iron Mine has been rebalanced: maximum daily production is now 100 / 60 / 40 (
Stone /
Wood /
Earth biomes). Production in the Wood Biome and Earth Biome is now feasible, though the Stone Biome remains most favourable.
