Effects
[edit]| Effect | Value | Description |
|---|---|---|

| Import cost | ×1.0 | No change to import costs |
Neutral Focus applies no trade modifiers. Export and import costs remain at their base values, providing a balanced approach to trade without favoring buying or selling.
Details
[edit]Neutral Focus is the default trade policy for all settlements. It is active from the start and does not need to be manually selected. Switching back to Neutral Focus from Export Focus or Import Focus requires a 14-day lock period, same as all trade focus policies.
Neutral Focus has no resource cost to enact and is mutually exclusive with Export Focus and Import Focus. Only one of the three can be active at any time.
Strategy
[edit]Neutral Focus is the safe choice for settlements that both import and export goods regularly. It avoids the drawbacks of Export Focus (expensive imports) and Import Focus (expensive exports), keeping all trade equally accessible.
Settlements with no strong preference for buying or selling, or those still developing their economy, should remain on Neutral Focus. The 14-day lock on trade focus policies means switching to Export Focus or Import Focus and then back is a month-long round trip, so players should only change when they are confident in their trade strategy.
