New Town Boost is a temporary buff that is automatically applied to newly founded settlements. It doubles all production output and halves raid risk for 4 days, giving new towns a head start before normal conditions take effect.

Effects

Effect Value Description
Raid risk ×0.5 Reduces the probability of Raid events by 50%
All production ×2.0 Doubles the output of all production buildings

New Town Boost provides two powerful effects. The production doubling applies to every building that produces resources, from Woodcutters and Fields to Bakeries and Universities. The 50% raid risk reduction provides additional safety during the vulnerable early days of a settlement.

Details

New Town Boost is automatically applied when a new settlement is founded and lasts for 4 days. It cannot be manually activated, disabled, or extended. The buff expires on its own after the duration ends.

This is one of the few time-limited effects in the game. Players cannot enact New Town Boost through the Choices menu and it has no cost.

Strategy

New Town Boost is the most powerful production modifier in the game at ×2.0, but it only lasts 4 days. Players should make the most of this window by prioritizing the construction and staffing of production buildings immediately after founding a settlement.

Focus on building Woodcutters, Fields, and Fisheries early, as their doubled output will generate the resources needed to rapidly expand. The reduced raid risk also means players can safely accumulate resources in storage without worrying about losing them to raids during this critical early period.

Once the boost expires, production returns to normal levels. Plan for this transition by having enough production capacity to sustain the settlement at standard rates.
