Metal is a resource in Project Rebearth, refined from
Ore at the Refinery. It is the key input for the Tools Workshop, which converts it into
Tools, and is also used as a construction material for the Glassworks. The
Ore-to-
Metal conversion runs at a 5:1 ratio.
Overview
[edit]The Refinery converts 50
Ore/day into 10
Metal/day, consuming 0.2
Tools/day in the process. It requires 20 workers. The 5:1 input-to-output ratio means that sustaining a single Refinery requires substantial
Ore throughput from Iron Mines.
The Tools Workshop consumes 4
Metal/day (along with 5
Wood/day) to produce 2
Tools/day, requiring 10 workers. Since many advanced buildings consume
Tools during operation, maintaining a reliable
Metal supply is essential for late-game economies.
Metal is also a construction material for the Glassworks, which requires 10
Metal to build alongside other resources.
Production
[edit]The Refinery is the only building that produces
Metal. It has biome-varying construction costs but a flat production rate across all biomes. The Refinery requires a steady input of
Ore from Iron Mines and a small ongoing
Tools cost.
Production chains
[edit]Tools chain
[edit]The Iron Mine produces
Ore, which the Refinery converts into
Metal at a rate of 50
Ore/day to 10
Metal/day (20 workers, 0.2
Tools/day). The Tools Workshop then consumes 4
Metal/day and 5
Wood/day to produce 2
Tools/day (10 workers). This chain is essential for sustaining
Tools supply, which is required by many advanced production buildings including the Windmill, Bakery, Brewery, Tailor, Creamery, Glassworks, Woodcutter, Saw, and Iron Mine itself.
Consumption
[edit]| Building | Output | Workers | Notes | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tools Workshop | -4/day | +2 |
10 | Also consumes 5 |
The Tools Workshop is the only building that consumes
Metal as a production input. It converts 4
Metal/day and 5
Wood/day into 2
Tools/day.
Metal is also used as a construction cost for the Glassworks (10
Metal in all biomes).
Storage
[edit]Other sources
[edit]
Metal can be purchased from other players through the Market (up to 1,000 capacity) or the Port (up to 5,000 capacity). Trading for
Metal can supplement local production when
Ore supply or refining capacity is insufficient.
Affected by
[edit]
Metal production is affected only by the all production modifier, which applies to every production building in the settlement including the Refinery. Since the Refinery is a refined and manufactured category building (not food or resources), it is not affected by food production or goods production modifiers. The goods production effect targets only
Wood,
Stone, and
Earth.
