The Earth Biome is one of four biomes in Project Rebearth. It covers arid, grassland, and dry regions of the world, where
Earth is the dominant resource. Settlements in the Earth biome benefit from exceptionally low
Wood upkeep on housing and excel at
Glass production through abundant
Earth supply.
Overview
[edit]The Earth biome is associated with dry and open landscapes.
Earth serves as both the primary resource and the construction material for all buildings in this biome.
Construction
[edit]Buildings in the Earth biome cost
Earth as their primary resource. For example, a Shack costs 35
Earth, a Cabin costs 80
Earth, and a Town Hall costs 1,000
Earth plus 500
Stone, 10
Tools, and 20
Glass.
Housing Upkeep
[edit]The Earth biome has a significant advantage in housing upkeep since
Wood consumption is roughly one-tenth of other biomes. A Shack consumes only -0.1
Wood per day compared to -1 in the Wood Biome and Stone Biome, or -2 in the Arctic Biome.
Food consumption remains the same across all biomes.
| Housing | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Shack | -0.1 | -1 | -1.5 |
| Hut | -0.15 | -1.5 | -2 |
| Cabin | -0.2 | -2 | -2.5 |
| House | -0.25 | -2.5 | -4 |
| Residence | -0.3 | -3 | -5 |
| Villa | -0.35 | -3.5 | -6 |
Resource Production
[edit]All biomes have different production rates per biome and the table below compares key building output across all. Values in bold indicate the highest rate for that building in the Earth Biome.
| Building | Resource | Wood Biome | Stone Biome | Earth Biome | Unit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Woodcutter | 30 | 15 | 5 | /day | |
| Nursery | 5 | 2 | 1 | /day | |
| Tent | 5 | 3 | 1 | /day | |
| Saw | 20 | 20 | 20 | /day | |
| Quarry | 0.01 | 0.03 | 0.01 | /m²/day | |
| Stone Crane | 20 | 30 | 10 | /day | |
| Claypit | 0.01 | 0.01 | 0.04 | /m²/day | |
| Clay Crane | 20 | 10 | 30 | /day | |
| Iron Mine | 40 | 100 | 60 | /day | |
| Foraging Hut | 5 | 5 | 3 | /day |
The Claypit produces 0.04
Earth per m² per day in the Earth biome, four times the rate in other biomes. The Clay Crane produces 30
Earth per day, also the highest of any biome. This abundance of
Earth makes the Earth biome ideal for
Glass production via the Glassworks, which consumes -50
Earth per day to produce 5
Glass.
The Woodcutter produces only 5
Wood per day, the lowest of all biomes. However, the Saw produces 20
Wood per day regardless of biome, providing a consistent alternative at the cost of -0.2
Tools per day.
The Foraging Hut produces 3
Food, 1
Wood, and 2
Stone per day in the Earth biome, offering a small but diversified resource output.
Strategy
[edit]The Earth biome's low
Wood upkeep makes it the most efficient biome for large-scale housing, allowing settlements to support large populations with minimal
Wood consumption. However, its low
Wood production means players must invest in trade or multiple Woodcutters to sustain building construction and
Tools production.
While the Woodcutter produces only 5
Wood per day in the Earth biome, the Saw produces 20
Wood per day regardless of biome, making it an effective way to supplement
Wood output. The trade-off is that the Saw consumes -0.2
Tools per day.
The biome's strength in
Earth production makes it a natural hub for
Glass manufacturing via the Glassworks, which can be traded to other settlements. Combined with the Claypit and Clay Crane, Earth biome settlements can generate large surpluses of
Earth for export.
