The Improved Windmill is the upgraded form of the Windmill. It converts
Grain into
Flour more efficiently than the base Windmill and no longer consumes
Tools for maintenance.
Overview
[edit]The Improved Windmill cannot be constructed directly. It is obtained by spending 100
Scrap to upgrade an existing Windmill. The upgrade preserves the parent Windmill's 5 worker requirement and 25-meter exclusion zone.
Each day the Improved Windmill consumes 80
Grain and produces 100
Flour. Flour output is unchanged from the base Windmill, but grain consumption drops by -20 per day, a meaningful saving for settlements that scale up bread production. The upgrade also removes the
Tools maintenance cost present on the base Windmill.
Storage capacity is reduced to 100 units of
Flour only. Unlike the base Windmill, the Improved Windmill no longer holds a
Grain buffer, so settlements relying on it should ensure
Grain is available from a nearby Field or storage building.
