The Pier is a Food building that acts as a water-based extension of the Fishery. It produces no resources on its own. Instead, it serves as an anchor point that lets Boats be placed further from the parent Fishery than they could reach directly.
Overview
[edit]The Pier costs 10 of the biome's primary resource in the Wood and Stone biomes. In the Earth and Arctic biomes it costs 10
Wood instead. Earth is the only building cost in the game that does not use the biome's primary resource. The Pier requires no workers and produces nothing.
A Pier must be placed on water within 10 meters of a Fishery. Once placed, it accepts Boats within 50 meters of itself. A Boat anchored to a Pier can therefore reach roughly 10 meters further from the Fishery than a Boat placed directly off the Fishery, allowing fishing operations to extend further into open water.
