Glass is a refined resource in Project Rebearth, produced at the Glassworks by processing
Earth. It is consumed by the University for ongoing research and serves as a construction material for several high-tier buildings.
Glass production is not available in the Arctic biome, making it a resource that must be imported or obtained through Expeditions in Arctic settlements.
Overview
[edit]The Glassworks converts 50
Earth/day into 5
Glass/day, consuming 0.5
Tools/day in the process. It requires 10 workers and stores up to 50
Glass internally.
The University consumes 5
Glass/day alongside 10
Coin/day to produce 10
Knowledge/day, requiring 50 workers. Since the Glassworks produces 5
Glass/day and each University consumes 5/day, a single Glassworks can supply one University.
Glass is also a construction material for the Town Hall (20
Glass), University (500
Glass), and Museum (500
Glass). The Glassworks itself is not available in the Arctic Biome, so Arctic settlements must import
Glass via Trade or obtain it from Expeditions.
Production
[edit]| Building | Workers | Notes | |||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Glassworks | +5/day | -50/day | -0.5/day | 10 | Not available in Arctic |
The Glassworks is the only building that produces
Glass. It requires a steady supply of
Earth (typically from a Claypit) and a small ongoing
Tools cost.
Production chains
[edit]Research chain
[edit]The primary chain consuming
Glass. The Glassworks converts 50
Earth/day into 5
Glass/day (10 workers), and the University consumes 5
Glass/day to produce 10
Knowledge/day (50 workers). The University also consumes 10
Coin/day.
Consumption
[edit]| Building | Output | Workers | Notes | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| University | -5/day | +10 |
50 | Also consumes 10 |
The University is the only building that consumes
Glass as an ongoing operational cost. It converts 5
Glass/day and 10
Coin/day into 10
Knowledge/day.
Construction
[edit]
Glass is required as a construction material for several high-tier buildings:
| Building | Category | |
|---|---|---|
| Town Hall | 20 | Town |
| University | 500 | Research |
| Museum | 500 | Research |
The University and Museum each require 500
Glass to construct, making them among the most glass-intensive buildings. The Town Hall requires a smaller amount of 20
Glass.
Storage
[edit]| Building | Volume | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Center | 5,000 | Shared with all resources |
| Square | 10,000 | Shared with all resources |
| Warehouse | 5,000 | Shared with all resources |
| Glassworks | 50 |
Other sources
[edit]
Glass is one of the resources (alongside
Wood,
Stone, and
Earth) that can be obtained from Expeditions. Expeditions yield a random basic resource at a rate of 15 per 1,000 hectares of explored area. This makes Expeditions an important supplementary source of
Glass, particularly for Arctic settlements where the Glassworks cannot be built.
Glass can also be purchased from other players through the Market (up to 1,000 capacity) or the Port (up to 5,000 capacity).
Affected by
[edit]
Glass production at the Glassworks is affected only by the all production modifier, which applies to every production building in the settlement. Since the Glassworks is a refined and manufactured category building (not food or resources), it is not affected by food production or goods production modifiers. The goods production effect targets only
Wood,
Stone, and
Earth.
| Effect | Source | Multiplier | Type |
