The Shack is a basic housing building. It is the cheapest and smallest shelter available, providing a home for a small number of people at very low cost. While limited in capacity, it is often the first housing structure built in a new settlement.
Overview
The Shack provides housing for 2 people and must be placed within 100 meters of a Center, Square, or Market. It is the most affordable housing option, requiring only 35 of the primary biome resource to construct, or 70
Wood in the Arctic where materials are scarcer.
Like all housing buildings, the Shack consumes
Food and
Wood daily to maintain its residents. Its upkeep is the lowest among all housing types, making it ideal for early-game expansion when resources are tight. In the Earth biome, Wood consumption is significantly reduced to just -0.1/day.
