== Strategy == The Arctic biome is the most challenging biome in the game due to its complete lack of resource extraction. Every Wood, Stone, Earth, and Ore must be obtained through trade, making the Port and Market essential buildings. The Port should be an early priority to enable large-scale imports. The Fishery and Boats are the sole local food source. Coastal placement is critical, settlements should be founded near coastlines to maximize Fishery and Boat placement opportunities. A single Fishery produces ' Food per day, and each Boat adds ' Food per day, requiring careful scaling to support population growth. The double Wood construction cost and double Wood upkeep create enormous demand for imported Wood. A Villa costs ' Wood and consumes ' Wood per day, compared to ' and ' in the Wood Biome. Managing Wood supply through trade is the central challenge of Arctic biome gameplay. Processing buildings can add value to imported raw materials. For example, importing Ore and processing it through the Refinery and Tools Workshop into Tools allows Arctic settlements to export finished goods at a premium, partially offsetting the high cost of resource imports.
