== Strategy == Expedition costs and yields both scale linearly with area, so the resource return per hectare is constant regardless of expedition size. The main variable is the distance bonus on duration: nearby expeditions are significantly faster than distant ones. Players looking to maximize Scrap income should prioritize large, nearby areas to minimize idle time. The Knowledge cost (10 per 1,000 hectares) can be substantial for very large expeditions, so players should ensure they have adequate Knowledge reserves or a strong research economy (University, Museum) before launching major expeditions. Settlements in a Science League alliance benefit from a 20% reduction in all expedition costs, making them well suited for frequent exploration.
